The Brockport hockey team dropped Saturday's matchup with Geneseo, 3-1, on November 23rd. The Golden Eagles fell to 0-6-2 overall and 0-6 in UCHC contests.
Jake McDonald of Geneseo would open the scoring the first, finding paydirt to put the Knights up 1-0 at 13:28. Brockport goalie Dax Easter kept the squad close, making 14 stops in the opening period.
After Robert Gatewood doubled Geneseo's lead in the second period, Livio Azevedo struck for Brockport at 13:14 to bring Brockport within one (2-1). Dominic Chirico would fire an excellent pass of the boards for the assist.
Just over six minutes later, Geneseo was ready to respond. Peter Morgan would light the lamp to put the Knights ahead 3-1.
Despite scoring chances from both teams, both goalies would post a scoreless third, with Dax Easter making 10 stops for Brockport.
Easter would have a big day, making 37 saves in an excellent effort in the loss.
Josh Grund (4) and Jacob Rodrigue (3) combined for seven blocked shots in a valiant effort.
The shot disparity would catch up with the Golden Eagles, with Geneseo outshooting Brockport 40 to 14.
