Brockport wins Round One 7-6 in OT

 The SUNY Brockport men's hockey team traveled to Plattsburgh State for the first round of the 2021-2022 SUNYAC Men's Hockey Championship. The matchup for the Golden Eagles against the Cardinals was the third straight season in which the two teams faced off against each other in the first round of the tournament. This year, Brockport defeat Plattsburgh State in Overtime by a score of 7-6.
 
Scoring Recap
Connor Galloway recorded his second hat trick of the season in the team's overtime victory as Andrew Harley, Anthony Hora, Jacob King, and Scott Ramaekers all scored. Jacob King recorded three assists while both Hora and Galloway tallied two assists with Harley, Jake Mendeszoon, Corey Tam, Chris Aaron's, Casey Winn, Mitchell Parsons, and Zach Norby all recording one assist.
 
1st Period
In the first period, the Golden Eagles scored twice out of the gate as Connor Galloway got the Golden Eagles on the board early. 4:49 into the first period, Galloway scored his first goal of the game on an even strength goal with Jacob King and Casey Winn picking up assists on the goal. 13:24 Plattsburgh would come back and tie the game to make the score 1-1. 15:49 into the opening period, Galloway would put the puck in the back of the net for the second time to give the Golden Eagles its second lead of the game. With King and Jake Mendeszoon assisting Galloway on his second goal, Brockport would head into the second period with a 2-1 lead.
 
2nd Period
To open the 2nd period, Andrew Harley would give Brockport a two goal lead on a power-play opportunity 1:44 into the period to give the Green and Gold a 3-1 lead with Corey Tam and Zach Norby assisting the rookies goal. with a 3-1 lead, Plattsburgh would go on to score five unanswered goals including one off a penalty shot to go up 6-3 against Brockport to end the second period.
 
3rd Period
On the teams third power-play opportunity of the game, the Golden Eagles would capitalize to make It a two goal game against the Cardinals off Jacob King's goal 3:42 into the second period. Assisting King were Galloway and Anthony Hora. 18:28 into the final period, Anthony Hora scored with the Golden Eagles an extra attacker up to make it a one goal game with 1:32 remaining in the period. Both Galloway and Chris Aarons picked up assists on the goal. Connor Galloway recorded his third goal of the game to complete his second hat trick of the season to tie the game up 15 seconds after Hora's goal to tie the game up and send it into overtime with a score of 6-6. Assisting Galloway on his third goal and fifth point of the game were Jacob king and Mitchell Parsons.
 
Overtime
Similar to last season, the Golden Eagles and Cardinals would take the first round of the SUNYAC tournament into sudden death overtime. Things played out differently this season though as Scott Ramaekers scored the golden goal to give the Golden Eagles the 7-6 victory over Plattsburgh State. Assisting Ramaekers were Andrew Harley and Anthony Hora to help Brockport move onto the Semi-Finals of the SUNYAC Tournament.
 
Big Numbers
With the team scoring seven total goals in the game, the biggest standout player for the Golden Eagles came from the Sugar Hill, Georgia native Connor Galloway scored a career high five points in tonight's victory over Plattsburgh with his hat-trick and two assists.
 
Jacob King, the Mississauga, Ontario, Canada native also picked up a career high points game as his one goal and three assists gave him four points on the night.
 
Anthony Hora of Clarence, NY tied his career high points game as his one goal and two assists gave him three points tonight.
 
Nolan Egbert of North Mississauga, NY recorded a total of 46 saves against the Cardinals making 22 saves alone in the first period. The goaltender spent a career high 66:46 minutes in net.
 
Power-Play
The Golden Eagles went 2-for-4 on tonight's power-play to help the team in its win while Brockport's penalty kill shut down Plattsburgh power-play as they went 0-for-1.
 
Face offs
Jacob king had another stellar night on face offs as the freshman had a win-to-loss record on face offs tonight of 18-to-13. Kevin Mainello also went above .500 on face offs with a 9-to-6 wins to loss record on face offs.
 
The Golden Eagles will advance to the Semi-Finals of the SUNYAC Tournament for the first time since the 2014-2015 season where they will travel to SUNY Geneseo and face off against the No.1 seeded team in the SUNYAC Tournament and No. 3 team in the Country. That game is scheduled to begin at 7:00pm at SUNY Geneseo.

Brockport falls to Geneseo in regular season finale

 The SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles (13-10-2, 6-8-2) fell to the #3 SUNY Geneseo Knights (19-3-1, 11-2-1) on Saturday by a score of 6-3.
 
Three different Golden Eagles scored in tonight's game as Ryan Romeo, Cam Barbagallo and Trevor Pray each put a point on the board for Brockport. Mitchell Parsons, Scott Ramaekers, Zach Norby, Jacob Rodrigue, and Jake Colosanti each recorded assists with Rodrigue picking up two in the game.
 
The Golden Eagles have clinched a spot in this year SUNYAC Tournament the #6 seed and will travel to #3 seed Plattsburgh State on Saturday, February 26th in the quarter-final game of the SUNYAC Tournament. The current standings are listed below as of February 19th, 10:15pm

1st Period
The Golden Eagles fell behind early in the game as they were unable to score throughout the first period of play while giving up three unanswered goals to the Knights in the first, including a power-play goal. heading into the first period Brockport trailed 3-0.
 
2nd Period
Against the No. 3 team in the country, SUNY Brockport wasn't going to go down without a fight scoring two unanswered goals throughout the period. Brockprot first goal came at 5:24 into the second period off a snipe by Ryan Romeo into the top right corner of the next to make the game 3-1. Assisting the captain on the play were Mitchell Parsons and Scott Ramaekers. Exaclty one-minute following the Green and Golds first goal they did it again when Jacob Rodrigue made a pass a third of the way up the ice into the neutral zone to Zach Norby whose shot rebounded off Geneseo's goaltenders' pads into the air where Cam Barbagallo batted it into the pack of the net to make the game 3-2. Following Brockport's two goals #3 Geneseo would take another three goal lead scoring twice to make the game 5-2 at the end of the period.
 
3rd Period
1:46 into the final period, Jacob Rodrigue fired a slap shot the deflected off Geneseo's goaltender's pads as Trevor Pray grabbed the rebound and shot from the side of the net that deflect off #3 Geneseo's goaltender into the back of the net to make the game 5-3. 16:25 into the period #3 Geneseo would score the games final goal as the game ended 6-3.
 
Goaltending
Nolan Egbert (10-7-1) made many incredible saves yet again in tonight's games as the UMASS Boston transfer has certainly made a name for himself in his first season at SUNY Brockport. Tonight's game saw Egbert one saves shy of tying his career high saves in a game as he recorded 44 against the Knights in an incredible effort. Matt Petizian (15-3) was the goaltender for the Knights tonight as he recorded a total of 35 saves in the game.
 
Highlights of the Night:
Romeo scored his 36th point in tonight's game as the Graduate Student finished the regular season with 12 goals and 24 assists. Cam Barbagallo scored the first goal of his collegiate career in tonight's final regular season contest. Jacob King went 18-for-28 in faceoffs tonight posting another above .500 win-loss on faceoffs.
 
SUNYAC Tournament
With Geneseo still having two games to play this regular season other teams will wait to see their fate while the Golden Eagles have one week to prepare against the Plattsburgh State Cardinals. The Green and Gold look to seek revenge and do the opposite of last seasons end. This time Brockport will attempt to head into Plattsburgh and knock off the #3 seeded cardinals in the first round of the SUNYAC tournament. The game will take place on Saturday, February 26th at 7pm in Plattsburgh, NY.

Regular season finale this weekend

 The SUNY Brockport men's ice hockey team (13-9-2, 6-7-2) will look to prepare for its final home game this Saturday, February 19th at 7:00pm against #3 SUNY Geneseo (18-3-1, 10-2-1) in the Tuttle North Ice Arena.
 
Weekend Recap:
The Golden Eagles went 0-2 this weekend after facing Buffalo State on Friday night and Fredonia State on Saturday. Against Buffalo State the Golden Eagles lost by a score of 3-2 in Overtime after tying up the game with five seconds remaining in the third period to send it into OT before giving up Buffalo States game winning goal. on Saturday the Golden Eagles fell 4-0 to Fredonia.
 
Leading The Stats
Heading into the final week of the regular season, the Golden Eagles have four players in the Top 10 amongst scoring leaders in the SUNYAC
 
Where Art Thou Romeo
A Fairport, NY native, defensemen Tyan Romeo is the team and conference's points leader with a total of 35 points on 11 goals and 24 assists. Romeo has cemented his name into the Brockport record books as he ranks 10th in single-season assist leaders with his 24 assists this season. Along with being in. the record book, Romeo is also tied for third in the nation in assists and with his 35 points, Romeo is currently ranked 6th in the country amongst scoring leaders. Through 24 games Romeo is also tied for first in the conference in plus/minus with +24.
 
Cruising like a Harley
Playing high school hockey for Brockport High and now a sophomore at SUNY Brockport, left winger Andrew Harley is second on the team and third this season in the SUNYAC along with tied for 30th in the country in points with 14 goals and 16 total assists for 30 points. His 14 goals tie him for second in the conference and 19th in the nation.
 
Leading the Galloway
As a sophomore right wing from Sugar Hills, Georgia, Galloway has transitioned well to the snowy Western New York winters as he currently has a total of 25 points which puts him at 7th place in the SUNYAC. Amongst point leaders, Galloway is also ranked third in the conference and tied for 36th in the country in assists this season with 17.
 
All Hail The King
A freshman center hailing from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, Jacob King has done very well in his first year as a Golden Eagle scoring 10 goals on 14 assists for 24 points. In points, he's ranked fourth on the team and eighth in the SUNYAC in points. In plus/minus, he is tied for 6th in the conference with a +15. On faceoffs, King currently has a 284-174 win-loss ratio for a 0.62 Faceoff percentage.
 
Team Statistics
Through 24 games, one of the team's biggest accomplishments has been drawing power-play opportunities (PPO). The Golden Eagles lead the conference in PPO with a total of 114 chances. The next closest team is Plattsburgh with 92. On those power-plays, Brockport has capitalized 19.3% of the time ranking 5th in the conference. #3 Geneseo ranks first with a 27% PP% on 89 PPO's. on offense, Brockport ranks third in goals scoring 86 total goals this season with a total of 149 assists for a total of 235 points. Brockport's goaltenders have played a crucial role this season too as Nolan Egbert and Aidan Curry have combined to make 832 saves, the second most in the SUNYAC.
 
Looking at #3 SUNY Geneseo
Before the Knights come to Brockport, they recently hosted Fredonia State on. Tuesday, February 15th which saw #3 SUNY Geneseo lose in upsetting fashion to the Blue Devils by a score of 3-2. #3 Geneseo has been at the top of the USCHO.com rankings all year rankings all year, including a few weeks as the #1 team in the country. Having only lost two games this season to Elmira and SUNY Cortland, SUNY Geneseo is making a push to earn the #1 Seed in the SUNYAC as they are currently 3 points behind Oswego State. Leading #3 SUNY Geneseo's offense, Peter Morgan currently has 34 points this season tied for the ninth most in the country with 14 goals and a team high 12 assists through 21 games. Leading the team in goals, Dan Bosio has a total of 15 this season, tying him for the 14th most in the nation. Matt Petizian has spent a total of 1013:30 minutes in net allowing a total of 26 goals and making 379 saves. He is the fifth best goaltender in the country with 14 wins and 3 losses with a save percentage of .936%.
 
SUNYAC Standings
With only one game remaining for Brockport in the regular season the Golden Eagles will make an appearance in the SUNYAC Tournament this season.  This is the seventh time in eight seasons that the Golden Eagles have made an appearance in the SUNYAC Tournament. With each team playing a total of 16 conference games. Plattsburgh State is currently the only team to have cemented their regular season record with #3 SUNY Geneseo needing three games for a possible total of nine points and #12 Oswego State potential being able to earn six points this week, the race for first place is set. Along with #12 Oswego State, SUNY Cortland, and Fredonia State each have two games to play while SUNY Brockport's final regular season game is scheduled for Saturday. The only way for SUNY Brockport to host a first round game of the SUNYAC Tournament would be for The Green and Gold to defeat #3 SUNY Geneseo and watch both SUNY Cortland and Fredonia State lose both its games this upcoming weekend. Any other scenario would see The Golden Eagles take their talent on the road.

Tilley commits to Brockport




Local talent James Tilley, who played for Victor High School, has committed to Brockport. The forward currently laces his skates for the Protec Junior Ducks for whom he has produced a 13-20-33 line in 35 games.

Brockport falls to Fredonia

 The Golden Eagles (13-9-2, 6-7-2) were shutout Saturday night 4-0 against the hosting Fredonia State Blue Devils (8-9-1, 6-7).
 
Scoring Summary:
Fredonia first scored in the first period at the 12:06 mark as the team's only goal in the period. The Blue Devils would go into the second period with a 1-0 lead before scoring three times in the second period. The Blue Devils goals came at 2:12, 5:38 and 13:59 into the period. After a scoreless third period the Golden Eagles fell to Fredonia state 4-0.
 
Stats Summery
 
Shots
The Golden Eagles out shot Fredonia 67-to-50 with Fredonia State getting more shots on goal against Brockport as the Blue Devils recorded 34 total shots on goals to Brockport's 28 shots on goal. Fredonia State managed to get its defense in front of the puck blocking 24 shots as the Golden Eagles blocked 12 of Fredonia's. Corey Tam led the team in shots as he fired off seven total shots with four on goal. Andrew Harley and Scott Ramakers recorded four shots with three on net as Mitchel Parsons, Jacob Rodrigue and Ryan Romeo fired off six shots in the game.
 
Penalty's
In the penalty box Brockport record two penalties for a total of four penalty minutes as Fredonia recorded eight penalties in the game. Fredonia served a total of 24 penalty minutes as Fredonia was given 7 minor penalties and a 10-minute Major for Unsportsmanlike Conduct.
 
Goaltending
Aidan Curry (3-3-1) was Brockport's goaltender in tonight's games playing the full 60-minutes in net for Brockport. The junior netminder managed to make a total of 30 saves in tonight's contest. Fredonia's goaltender Logan Dyck (8-8) managed to make 28 saves against the Golden Eagle's in tonight's contest for his second shutout of the season.
 
Faceoffs
Brockport won 38 of 64 total faceoffs in tonight's games. Jacob King continued to dominate in on faceoffs winning 15-of-18 in tonight's game. Michael Meredith won 10-of-13 faceoffs against the Blue Devils as Kevin Mainello and Mitchell Parsons both went .500 on their faceoffs with Mainello going 6-for-12 in the circle with Parsons going 5-for10.

Brockport loses to Buffalo State in OT

 The SUNY Brockport men's hockey team (13-8-2, 6-6-2) lost a hard fought battle that went into overtime against the Buffalo State Bengals (5-16, 3-10) by a score of 3-2.
 
On Teddy Bear Toss Night presented by the Brockport Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) a crowd of nearly 1000 Golden Eagle fans came out to support the Men's Hockey team.
 
1st Period
To open the game both team's defenses came out aggressive behind stellar goaltending performances from both sides. Brockport's goaltender Nolan Egbert record eight saves with Buffalo State's Emil Norrman recording nine saves as each team recorded shutout first periods.
 
2nd Period
The Golden Eagles eventually scored first on a goal from Zach Norby 15:22 into the second period. As Norby's goal went into, hundreds of teddy bears covered the ice with the Brockport fans tossing them out there. The stuffed animals were eventually collected and will be donated to the Bivona Child Advocacy Center. With Norby scoring the goal that set off the chaos of raining stuffed dogs, cats, unicorns and even octopi to mention a few, Jake Colosanti and Kevin Mainello helped make the play happen as the two picked up assists on the goal. at 17:32 into the second period Buffalo State would even up the game on a power-play opportunity to make the game tied at 1-1 heading into the third period of play.
 
3rd Period
Buffalo State would take the lead in the opening minutes of the final period scoring 4:43 into the third to give the Bengals a 2-1 lead over the Golden Eagles. With time ticking down and just over a minute remaining, Brockport head coach Brian Dickinson made the call to pull his goalkeeper to gain a two extra skater advantage on Buffalo State who was serving a power-play. With Buffalo States power-play expiring and Brockport with a 6-5 advantage, just like last weekend the Golden Eagles managed to score in the closing second of the game to tie it up. Andrew Harley scored the game tying goal with five-seconds remaining in the period. The play was assisted by Anthony Hora and Ryan Romeo and would make the game tied 2-2 to send it into overtime.
 
Overtime
With both teams playing strong games, Buffalo State scored 1:54 into overtime to give the Bengals the 3-2 victory over the Golden Eagles.
 
Goaltenders
Nolan Egbert (10-6-1) managed to make a total of 26 saves in tonight's game against the Bengals. Buffalo States Emil Norrman made a total of 44 saves as both goaltenders dueled it out to the end in performances neither can be disappointed in
 
Faceoffs
Brockport won 33 of 64 total faceoffs tonight. Jacob King went 18-for-23 on faceoffs in the game with Kevin Mainello winning 7-of-13 faceoffs tonight.
 
SUNYAC Standings
With only two games remaining in the regular season Brockport clinched a spot in this year's SUNYAC Tournament after Oswego State defeated Morrisville State on Wednesday night by a score of 4-0. This is the seventh time in eight seasons that the Golden Eagles have made an appearance in the SUNYAC Tournament.

Milestones
Graduate Student Ryan Romeo two big milestones in today's game recording his 35th points this season and 85th career point. With his assist tonight Romeo his now tied for the 10th most assists in a single season at Brockport with 24. The current record for most assists in a single season is 33 set back in 1980 by Chris Peck. He would need eight more points this season to tie the schools record for 10th most points in a season (43).
 
Sophomore Andrew Harley recorded his 30th career points today in his first season with the Golden Eagles with a total of 14 goals and 16 assists this year.
 
With two games remaining in the regular season and a clinched spot in the Playoffs, Nolan Egbert is on pace to record the 2nd best goals against average in program history. Egbert currently has a 2.41 gaa. Todd Sheridan of the 2008-2009 Golden Eagles Hocket team sits in second with a 2.59 gaa while the record is held by SUNY Brockport 2019 graduate Jake more who holds a 1.93 gaa in the 2018-2019 season.

Playoff schedule changed

Due to so many games in the conference being postponed or rescheduled, the SUNYAC Tournament will change its timetable with quarterfinal rounds now scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 26. The SUNYAC Semifinals will be played on Wednesday, March 2 while the SUNYAC Championship game will still be held on Saturday, March 5.

Teddy Bear Toss this Friday



The SUNY Brockport men's ice hockey team (6-5-2, 13-7-2) will hold its second WHITE OUT & TEDDY BEAR TOSS game on Friday, February 11th against visiting Buffalo State (2-10, 4-16) before traveling to Fredonia State (5-7, 7-9-1) on Saturday, February 12th for a pair of SUNYAC Contests.
 
White Out & Teddy Bear Toss:
Brockport's Student Athlete-Advisory Committee (SAAC) is presenting Ice Hockey's Second Teddy Bear Toss for Friday night's game. By wearing white and bringing a teddy bear or new stuffed animal to Friday night's game you'll gain FREE admission to the game. Along with FREE admission, following the Golden Eagles first goal of the game, throw your stuffed animal out onto the ice which will be collected by members of SAAC and donated to the Bivona Child Advocacy Center.

Last Week Recap:
The Golden Eagle's went 1-1-1 this past week after defeating Morrisville State (2-10), (7-12-2), falling to #11 Oswego State (11-2-1), (16-5-1) and tying SUNY Cortland (6-5-2), (11-9-2).
 
Defense is the key to Offense:
Graduate Student Defenseman Ryan Romeo currently ranks in the Top 50 in all three offensive categories in the nation this season as one of the best to play his position. Romeo currently has 11 goals, 23 assist and 34 points this season. According to www.uscho.com he is tied for the fifth best player in the country a crossed Division III Hockey with his 34 points. His 23 assists this year ranks him tied for second in the country, his 11 goals ties for 46th with his four power play goals tying him for 32nd most in the nation.
 
Rookie Sensations:
The line of Sophomores Andrew Harley and Connor Galloway along with Freshman Jacob King have been the top producing line as the three of them have combined this season for a total 31 goals, 47 assists and 78 points. All in their first season playing college hockey, Harley (13-16-29) ranks tied for 17th in the nations scoring leaders with his 29 points. his 13 goals tie him for 22nd in the country while his 16 assists tie him for 32nd in the country. Galloway (8-17-25) is tied for 41st in the country with 25 points and tied for 27th in assists this season with 17.
Jacob King (10-14-24) ranks tied for 48th in the States with 25 points on 10 goals, tied for 58th in the country, and his14 assists ties him for 62nd.
 
Goaltenders:
The duo of senior goaltender Nolan Egbert (10-5-1) and junior Aidan Curry (3-2-1) have been a dynamic pairing in net for the Golden Eagles. This Season Egbert has spent 962:04 in net starting in all 17 games he's appeared in; the goaltender has acquired an incredible 2.37 goals against average allowing 38 goals saving 434 shots on goals for a save percentage of .919%. Egbert has also recorded two shutout games this season. Appearing in six games this season, Curry has totaled 353:03 in net allowing 11 goals and averaging 1.87 goals allowed per game. He's made 144 total saves with a save percentage of .929%.
 
Looking at Buffalo State:
Nikita Kozyrev is the Bengals points leaders this season recording 15 points on 10 assists and 5 goals. With Kozyrev tied for third on the team in goals and leading in assists. Joel Free is Buffalo States leading goal scorer with eight goals, three assists and 11 points this year. Emil Norrman (2-12) has appeared in 17 games this season for a total 901:07 minutes allowing 50 goals and averaging 3:33 goals and a save percentage of .913 this year. the last time these two teams faced off on December 3rd, 2021, The SUNY Brockport ice hockey team defeated the Buffalo State Bengals by a score of 6-1. In total, six different golden eagles managed to record goals while 10 players picked up assists in the 6-1 victory.
 
Looking at Fredonia State:
For the Blue Devils, Matt Letmanski leads the team in points with 11 on two goals and a team leading nine assists. Gregg Lee and Kurri Woodford both lead Fredonia's offense with five goals each. Logan Dyck (7-8), the Blue Devils goaltender, has spent 842:16 in goal starting in all 15 games he's played in allowing 42 goals for a goal against average of 2.99 goals per game and a save percentage of .922%. the last time these two teams played, Brockport defeated Fredonia by a score of 4-1 on December 4th, 2021. Four different Golden Eagles scored in the game including Ryan RomeoConnor GallowayAnthony Hora and Andrew HarleyJacob King and Kevin Mainello record assists while Harley picked up two assists to go along with his goal. Ryan Romeo was able to contribute to all four goals in the game as he tallied three assists with his one goal.
 
After this weekends Whiteout & Teddy Bear Toss on Friday night and the team's final road game of the season, the Golden Eagles will host its local conference rival #2 SUNY Geneseo on Saturday, February 19th at 7 p.m. in the Tuttle North Ice Arena.

Brockport ties Cortland

The SUNY Brockport men's ice hockey team now 13-9-2 overall and 6-5-2 in conference play earn itself a point in the SUNYAC Standing after tying SUNY Cortland (11-9-2, 6-5-2) in a thrilling SUNYAC showdown on Saturday.
 
Scoring Recap
Three Golden Eagles scored in tonight's game with Mitchell Parsons, Andrew Harley and Anthony Hora all scoring one goal in each period. Zach Norby, Casey Winn, Trevor Pray and Jacob King each had one assist while Ryan Romeo added two assists to his team-high 34 points season.
 
1st Period
The Golden Eagle fell behind 3-0 to the Red Dragons only 8:17 into the first period of the game. The Golden Eagles slowly made their comeback effort as Mitchell Parsons scored Brockport's first of the game 12-minutes into the period on a power-play opportunity. Assisting Parsons on his 10th goal of the season were Zach Norby and Casey Winn.
 
2nd Period
Trailing 3-1 through the second period, Brockport brought the deficit to one 16:02 into the period with sophomore sensation Andrew Harley recording his 29th point this year on a goal assisted by Trevor Pray and Ryan Romeo.
 
3rd Period
Trailing by one throughout the whole period, the Golden Eagles almost had a chance to tie up the game with 18-seconds remaining. Off the next faceoff, won by Jacob King, the Golden Eagles scored as Anthony Hora hit a one timer from the top of the point off a pass from Ryan Romeo. Hora's one timer snuck passed Cortland's goaltender to send the game into overtime. Along with Romeo, Jacob King assisted the Golden Eagles on the game tying goal.
 
Overtime
Both Brockport and Cortland each received power-play opportunities following one another as each team had a chance to win in 4-3 free hockey. With no team able to capitalize the game would end in a tie 3-3 as each team would earn 1 point toward its SUNYAC standings rank.
 
Goaltending
Trailing by three goals, Aiden Curry was sent into the game as Brockport's netminder at the 8:17 mark of the first period. With Curry in net, Brockport did not allow a single goal as he shut out the Red Dragons the remainder of the game. Curry recorded a total of 17 shots against Cortland's Luca Durante who played the full 65-minutes in net making 45 saves and allowing three goals.
 
Faceoffs
The Golden Eagles won 32-of-58 Faceoffs for a 0.551 winning faceoff percentage. Jacob King won 16 of his 25 faceoffs with Scott Ramaekers winning 5 of his seven faceoffs. Kevin Mainello and Michael Meredith each went .500 in the circle as Mainello won 3-of-6 faceoffs and Meredith 2-of-4 of his.

Oswego hands Brockport a big loss

The SUNY Brockport men's ice hockey team traveled to #13 Oswego State Friday night to battle the Lakers where they fell by a score of 7-3.
 
Scoring Summery
Andrew Harley, Mitchell Parsons, and Jacob King scored the three goals while Connor Galloway recorded an assist on two of them. Also picking up assists in the game were Trevor Pray and Kevin Mainello
 
1st Period
Lots of action occurred during the first period as a total of seven goals were scored between Brockport and Oswego. The Lakers fired the first shot in the Battle of Lake Ontario scoring 3:32 into the first period of play. The Golden Eagles returned fire though scoring the next two goals. First for Brockport, Andrew Harley managed to find the back of the net 6:40 into the period with an assist from Connor Galloway and Kevin Mainello. At the 8:39 mark, Mitchell Parsons then scored for the Golden Eagles to take their own lead of the game off an assist from Trevor Pray. The Lakers would then put up three unanswered goals before Jacob King decreased Oswego's led to one off an assist by Connor Galloway.
 
2nd Period
Following the seven goal first period, Brockport was unable to find the back of the net in the second. Oswego State scored two goals to increase its lead to 6-3 heading into the third period of play. The Lakers goals came at 4:37 at 15:16 into the period.
 
3rd period
The Golden Eagles were unable to score in the third period as Oswego State put the puck in the back of the net one last time late in the game to give the Lakers a 7-3 victory over the Golden Eagles
 
Nolan Egbert spent all 60-minutes in goal for the Golden Eagles making a career high 45 saves against the Lakers. Steven Kozikoski was Oswego States goaltender for the game making 24 saves while allowing three goals
 
Stats
Brockport won 39 of 75 faceoffs in the game as Jacob King won 15 of 26 total faceoffs and Kevin Mainello winning 8 of 15 of his. Corey Tam lead the team in blocked shots blocking 3 with Scott Ramaekers and Casey Winn blocking two each. In total the Golden Eagles recorded a total of 13 blocked shots against Oswego's three.

Brockport wins rare Wednesday affair

 The SUNY Brockport men's ice hockey team (13-6-1, 6-4-1) traveled to Morrisville (7-11-1, 2-9) on Wednesday night for a SUNYAC contest where the Golden Eagles won 5-2 and are headed home with three points.
 
Robert Flannery, Andrew Harley, Casey Winn, Mitchell Parsons and Scott Ramaekers all scored goals for the Golden Eagles in the game with Ramaekers, Chris Aarons, Jacob King, Trevor Pray, Corey Tam and Jake Mendeszoon all recording an assist.
 
1st Period
Both teams defense would start off strong as neither side would allow a single goal as Brockport's Goaltender Nolan Egbert (10-3-1) saved six shots in the scoreless period. For the Mustangs Garrett Boyonoski (3-5) saved 10 shots in the period.
 
 2nd Period
Brockport's Robert Flannery would record the first goal in the game 4:11 into the second period off an assist from Chris Aarons. With the Mustangs down by one they would record two goals with two minutes of Flannery's goal to put Morrisville up 2-1 over Brockport. The two goals would be the only ones for Morrisville as Harley would keep his point streak alive scoring 12:15 into the second period off an assist from Jacob King. Harley's goal would keep his five game point streak alive and tie the game up heading into the final period of regulation at 2-2.
 
3rd Period
The Golden Eagles would wait long taking the lead 2:02 into the third period off a goal from defensemen Casey Winn to give Brockport the 3-2 lead. Winn's goal came off assists from Scott Ramaekers and Trevor Pray. 10:34 into the period Mitchell Parsons would make Brockport's lead a little more comfortable recording the Green and Gold's fourth goal of the game with an assist from Co-Captain Corey Tam. With Brockport leading 4-2 they gained an insurance goal from Scott Ramaekers with an assist from Jake Mendeszoon as the final goal of the game to give Brockport the victory with the final score being 5-2.
 
Goaltenders
Nolan Egbert earned his tenth career win in goal as a Golden Eagle following tonight's win. the goaltender made 19 saves playing all 60-minutes in the teams win. meanwhile Garret Boyonski recorded his fifth loss for Morrisville this year making a total of 27 saves and allowing five goals.
 
Faceoffs
Jacob King won 9-of-17 of his faceoffs while Kevin Mainello was dominant in the circle winning 8-of-10 of his faceoffs against the Mustangs.

What's Next
The Golden Eagles will be on the road this Friday to take on #13 Oswego State (14-4-1, 9-1-1) at the Deborah F. Stanley Arena & Convocation Center in Oswego, NY. The game is set for Friday, February 4th at 7:00 PM and will see Oswego host its Pride Night along with honoring its senior skaters for Senior Night.
