Brockport falls 5-2 to #3 ranked Utica

 The Brockport ice hockey team came up short at #3 ranked Utica, 5-2, on Friday, November 15th. The Golden Eagles fell to 0-3-2 overall and 0-3 in UCHC play to begin the season.
 
The Pioneer's offense struck early and often, with Matt Wood getting Utica on the board 9:01 into the first period.
 
Just 1:51 later, Utica would strike on the Brockport power play, with Andrew Della Rovere netting a shorthanded goal to put the Pioneers up 2-0.
 
Following Utica's 3rd goal to go up 3-0 in the second period, Jacob Gates would open the scoring for Brockport, with Kaleb Miller and Matt Anastasio.
 
After cutting the Utica lead to 3-1, the Pioneers would take two of the last three goals of the contest. Jakob Breault and Eric Vitale of Utica would extend the lead to 5-2.
 
Manny Sanchez would drill a powerplay goal for Brockport's lone tally in the final period.
 
Adian Tayor and Joseph Nikac chipped in with an assist each on the Sanchhez powerplay goal.
 
Sasha Trudel was productive throughout and was the lone Golden Eagle with a +1 in the evening.
 
Cole Hudson kept the Golden Eagles close, making 45 saves, including 20 saves in the opening period.
 
Manny Sanchez led Brockport with four shots, netting a goal in a strong effort.
