The Brockport hockey team fell in Saturday's matchup with
Manhattanville, 6-3. The Golden Eagles moved to 0-2-2 overall with a
0-2-0 mark in UCHC play.
For the third time this season, the Golden Eagles lit the lamp first, thanks to Matt Anastasio from Ben Saurbaugh.
With 1:28 left in the first period, Johno Hoins of Manhattanville would
net a power play goal to tie the game up at 1-1 going into the second
quarter.
Following a Manhattanville goal from Mitchell Watson, Schuyler Flansburg struck at 9:07 in the second period, tying the game up at 2-2.
Manhattanville responded with back-to-back tallies, going up 4-2 in the second period. Needing momentum, Michael Meredith connected for a big goal with 1:13 left in the second to bring Brockport within one entering the third period.
Meredith's goal would be the last for Brockport, with Manhattanville
adding two more scores in the third to come away with the 6-3 win.
David Filak started between the pipes for Brockport, making 25 saves.
Chase Maxwell and Ben Saurbaugh chipped in with an assist each on the day.
Manny Sanchez had a day in the faceoff circle, winning 12 of 18 draws.
