The SUNY Brockport ice hockey team lost, 2-0, Friday night against
Potsdam at the Wegmans Ice Arena. Brockport is now 6-11-2 overall and
3-7 in the conference.
Brockport recorded a total of 8 shots in the first period to Potsdam's
7, yet both teams failed to score in the first. The score stayed tied at
0-0 heading into the first intermission.
It looked like the second period was going to end at 0-0 still, but the
visiting Bears got on the board late in the period. Potsdam scored
the first goal of the night at 19:58 into the second period, sneaking it
past Wiemer with two second to spare. Potsdam was up 1-0 going into the
final frame.
Brockport answered back early in the third period with strong defense
and good possession in the offensive zone but failed to get the puck
past Perno.
Brockport pulled Wiemer with less than a minute left looking to tie the
game up with an extra skater. However, Potsdam scored on the empty net
for the final goal of the night to earn the 2-0 win.
Dylan Wiemer played a total of 58:55 between the pipes tonight making a total of 18 saves and allowing one goal.
Brockport recorded a total of 44 shots and won 44 of 64 faceoffs on the night.
