The SUNY Brockport ice hockey team fell, 5-1, on the road Wednesday night in the first round of the SUNYAC Conference Tournament. Brockport ends the year 8-14-4 overall and 5-10-2 in the conference.
Cortland scored first, sneaking the puck in at 16:44 into the first period. Brockport recorded nine shots in the first but did not even up the score before heading into the first intermission.
The Red Dragons scored three times in the second period to take a commanding lead. They entered the second intermission with a 4-0 lead over the Green and Gold.
Brockport's Spencer Flansburg got the Golden Eagles on the board with their lone goal of the night at 11:00 into the third. Flansburg was assisted by Scott Ramaekers and Josh Grund. Cortland scored once more before the final horn, taking the win 5-1.
Dylan Wiemer played 59:18 minutes in goal making 30 saves.
Brockport ends its time in the SUNYAC with a mark of 5-9-2, as the program will head to the United College Hockey Conference next season.
