On Saturday the Golden Eagle hockey team closed the regular season with
a, 6-3, win on the road Against Morrisville. Brockport officially
clinches a spot in the SUNYAC Tournament for the fourth time in the last
five seasons.
Head Coach Brian Dickinson gets the program to the postseason for the 11th
time in his career at Brockport. This group finished the regular season
at 8-13-4 overall and 5-9-2 in SUNYAC play, earning the No. 5 seed for
the conference tournament.
To start the contest, the Green and Gold outshot the opponent, 12-8, in
the first period. However, neither goalie would allow a score in the
first 20 minutes.
The Mustangs broke the tie in the second with a pair of scores,
including a power play and a short handed goal. They hoped to enter the
third up, 2-0, but Brockport answer back quickly. Dominic Chirico scored in the final two minutes of the second to make it a 2-1 game.
Spencer Flansburg and Jordan Rosenbaum assisted Chirico on his second score of the season. Rosenbaum made another assist in the third, helping Chase Maxwell find the back of the net to tie the game at 2-2.
Morrisville responded with a goal nearly a minute later to regain the
lead, 3-2. Then the Golden Eagles took over the game with four
unanswered goals in the final period. Spencer Flansburg got another assist along with Tobin Winslow on Andrew Harley's power play goal.
Harley tied the score (3-3), but Scott Ramaekers found the back of the net shortly after. Assisted by Josh Grund and Manny Sanchez, Ramaekers gave Brockport its first lead of the night (4-3).
It was Ryan Brow that made the score 5-3, with assists credited to Chase Maxwell and Jacob Gates. Connor Galloway would score a goal for a third game in a row, to create the 6-3 final.
Now with seven goals on the season, Galloway was assisted by Andrew Harley and Victor Malzahn. The Golden Eagles outshot the Mustangs, 16-9, in the third period.

logged 59:55 mintues in the contest between the pipes and made a total
of 20 saves in the road win. Brockport won the faceoff battle, 42-29.
The SUNYAC Tournament 1st Round game will be played at No. 4 seeded Cortland on Wednesday, February 21st at 7pm.
