The SUNY Brockport men's ice hockey team fell, 3-1, to the Plattsburgh
State Cardinals Saturday afternoon. Brockport turns to 2-3 overall and
1-2 in SUNYAC play.
Scott Ramaekers scored the first goal of the game at 5:40 in the first period assisted by Connor Roach and James Tilley. Brockport owned possession in the first, not giving the Cardinals a chance to answer back.
This is the first time this year a team has scored before the Cardinals
and is also the first time this season the Cardinals have been down
going into the first intermission.
Plattsburgh's Jake Lanyi evened up the score in the second before
getting ejected 10 minutes later. The teams went into the third tied at
1-1.
The Cardinals scored twice more in the third and had a second ejection
in the game. The final score of 3-1 is the Cardinals' lowest scoring
game of the season thus far.
Dylan Wiemer spent 57:59 in goal tonight for the Golden Eagles making 48 saves and allowing three goals.
Brockport was 5-for-5 on the penalty kill tonight.
