The SUNY Brockport ice hockey team fell to the Oswego State Lakers, 2-1,
in a tough battle at home Friday night. Oswego is now 4-0 In conference
play and 5-1 overall as Brockport moves to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in the
conference.
Brockport put up a total of 11 shots in the first period to Oswego's 13.
Both team's battled but the game remained scoreless going into the
first intermission tied at 0-0.
Rocco Andreacchi scored for the Lakers unassisted at 2:17 in the second period to make it a 1-0 lead for Oswego.
Nick Serafin answered the call sending the puck into the back of the net, tying up the score with his first collegiate goal. Jacob Rodrigue picked up his second assist of the season on the play, while Ben Saurbaugh earned his first assist. The Golden Eagles headed into the third intermission tied 1-1 with the Lakers.
Oswego broke the tie at 11:10 in the third, going up 2-1 late in the
contest. Brockport pulled the goalie looking for help from an extra
skater, but was unable to find the equalizer.
Both teams were successful on the penalty kill, as neither team netted a
power play goal. Brockport recorded a total of 38 shots to Oswego's 31
on the night.
Dylan Wiemer spent nearly the full 60:00 minutes in goal, allowing two goals and making 29 saves.
