The SUNY Brockport men's ice hockey team lost, 4-1, at home Saturday
night to Oswego State. The Golden Eagles are now 8-14 overall on the
season and 3-10 in conference play.
For the second time this weekend the men went into the first
intermission tied at 0-0 with a clean slate going into the second.
Oswego outshot Brockport, 20-11, in the opening period but both goalies
were up for the challenge to keep the game scoreless.
The game came alive in the second with a goal at 9:11 from Oswego
State's Noah Bull. The first score was soon followed by a power play
goal from Oswego's Jackson Arcan, putting the visiting Lakers up 2-0.
Brockport had an answer with a power play goal of its own before the end of the period. Alex Monteleone struck back at 18:52 in the second to make it a 2-1 score, with assists coming from Scott Ramaekers and Josh Grund.
The Golden Eagles entered the final period down by just one, but Oswego
would close the game out in the third. The Lakers scored twice more in
the third to put the game away, 4-1.
Between the pipes tonight for the Golden Eagles was Nolan Egbert. Egbert made a total of 41 saves and allowed four goals.
