Galloway nets game winner in OT

In a must-win game at home, the Golden Eagles defeated Fredonia in overtime, 5-4, to keep their postseason hopes alive. Connor Galloway scored the game-winner in overtime to keep the squad in contention for a spot in the conference tournament.

Brockport will head into another crucial game on Saturday against Buffalo State with a record of 9-14 overall and 4-10 in the SUNYAC.

Fredonia struck first with a goal at 12:44 from Ryan Bailey. Two minutes later Bryce Witman capitalized on a power play opportunity scoring Fredonia's second goal at 15:02.
 
After being held scoreless in the first, Brockport entered the first intermission down 2-0.
 
Scott Ramaekers put the Green and Gold on the board with a goal 47 seconds into the second period. Ramaekers was assisted by teammate Alex Monteleone on the play.
 
Brockport kept it rolling with a shorthanded goal from Andrew Harley. Manny Sanchez sent the puck to Harley during a 2-on-1 breakaway, allowing Harley to tuck the puck in the back of the net tying the score at 2-2.
 
Fredonia struck back as Jack Blackwell scored at 13:15 in the second. However, Connor Galloway provided the answer with the final goal of the second period at 14:51, assisted by Harley and Sanchez. The Golden Eagles and Blue Devils went into the third period tied, 3-3, with major postseason implications on the line.
 
The third period kicked off with a power play goal from Fredonia's Gregg Lee, who put the final Fredonia goal on the board.
 
Adam Beauvais scored at 5:33 in the third, assisted by Monteleone. The Golden Eagles comeback effort tied the game up at 4-4, as the two conference opponents were headed to overtime.

Fredonia begin the overtime down a man, giving the Green and Gold a 4-on-3 advantage. Monteleone found Galloway who buried the puck in Fredonia's net, scoring the game-winning, power play goal just 1:45 into overtime.

With the 5-4 win, Brockport remains in contention for a spot in the postseason with two more regular season games left to play.
 
Aidan Curry goes home with 38 saves and a win in net. Curry allowed four goals and played a total of 61:25 minutes in tonight's contest.
