Brockport to play in Thanksgiving weekend tournament

 The SUNY Brockport men's ice hockey team will travel to Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY to take part in this weekends Skidmore Thanksgiving Invitational. The four teams taking part in the tournament are Brockport, host Skidmore College, Chatham University and Connecticut College. The Golden Eagle's will take on Connecticut College in the first game on Saturday, November 27th at 5pm and pending results will play either Skidmore or Chatham University the follow day in either the finals or consolation game at 1/4pm.
 
Looking back at this weekend's game's the Green and Gold dropped both of its contests to Oswego State and Cortland on Friday and Saturday nights. Against the Lakers, Brockport was handed its first loss of the season following a 5-0 start, in a close 2-1 contest which saw captain Ryan Romeo net the lone goal in the game for Brockport. The following night in Cortland, NY freshman Jacob King recorded both two goals for the Golden Eagles in a 4-2 loss to the Red Dragons.
 
Looking at conference Statistics, Ryan Romeo leads all defensemen in the SUNYAC in goals (3) assists (7) and points (10). In plus/minus's Romeo ranks third amongst all defenders with +9. Jacob King is the current plus/minus leader in the conference for forwards with +8 and is tied for fifth place in goals (5) this season of all skaters. Of goaltenders, with over 300 minutes of playing time, Nolan Egbert currently ranks first with the fewest number of goals allowed (10) and the lowest goals against average (1.68%).
 
Heading into this weekend's tournament, Connecticut College is 0-2 overall with both loses against its New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) opponents. Having lost both of its two games by scores of 5-1 to Trinity and Wesleyan, Anthony Qualtieri and Will Winship are the Camels leading goal scorers with one goal apiece. Michael McHale and Sean Dynan have split time in net for Connecticut each both playing one a full one game apiece as each have allowed five goals this season in one game each.
 
Chatham University is currently 1-3-2 overall and 1-2-2 against its United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) opponetns to begin its season. The teams most recent game on Tuesday, November 23rd saw the Cougars get shutout to Trine University by a score of 3-0. Tristan Simm is the team's leader in goals (3) and points (6) as Michael Lamison is the Cougars leading assists leader (4). In netl, Ricardo Gonzalez has spent the most time in the crease making the most starts of the teams' goaltenders with three. He currently has allowed nine goals and has a goal against average of 2.84.
 
Host Skidmore College has started off the season 2-3-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the New England Hockley Conference (NEHC). The Thoroughbreds recently battled #8 Babson College which saw them lose to the Beavers 4-2. Patrick Kaeden and Everett Wardle lead Skidmore in the three scoring categories as each have recorded seven points, four goals and three assist. Tate Brandon has started all six games in goal for the Thoroughbreds allowing a total of 16 goals this year with a 2-3-1 record.
