Matt Schneider has entered into folk hero status in the hockey program. Like a modern day Paul Revere or Johnny Appleseed, he’ll always be known as “the guy who shutout the Cardinals at Plattsburgh.” That wasn’t the only highlight of a nice rookie campaign that also saw him get a .903 save percentage and a 3.02 goals against average while securing the pressure cooker “must-wins” that closed out the regular season.
