The College at Brockport ice hockey team was on the road Friday night
for a SUNYAC matchup against Oswego. Brockport lost, 4-1, making the
team's record 3-2 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
The Golden Eagles struck first with a goal from Jake Colosanti, as they took a 1-0 lead in the first period. Jeremy Solat and Corey Tam were credited with assists on the play. Before the opening period ended, Oswego would tie the game up at 1-1.
The second period was controlled by the Lakers, as the home team scored three unanswered goals. Brockport would trail 4-1 heading into the second intermission. With neither team scoring in the final period of play, Oswego would hold on for the three-goal victory.
The Green and Gold went on the power play six times, finding the lone goal on the advantage. The face-off battle was dead even, as both teams won 27 face-offs in the contest.
Oswego improves to 4-0 on the season and 4-0 in SUNYAC play. The Lakers outshot Brockport, 48-39, in the game.
Casey Winn and Tyler Williams combined for five blocks defensively. Goalie Matt Schneider made 30 saves in the loss, just two shy of his season-high.
