The College at Brockport ice hockey team hosted Cortland for an
SUNYAC matchup on Saturday. The Golden Eagles took the 2-1 victory,
improving to 4-2 overall and 4-2 in conference play.
Jordan Renaud scored the game-winning goal for Brockport with just 0.4 seconds left in the game. The win over Cortland gives Head Coach Brian Dickinson his 200th career win as head of the program.
The Green and Gold took the first lead of the game in the opening period thanks to a goal from Trevor Pray. Corey Tam and Danny Rock assisted on the score. The team held a 1-0 lead going into the first intermission.
Cortland was able to tie the game up in the second period with a goal of its own. With no other goal in the second, the score would be tied at 1-1 going into the third.
After 19:59.6 played in the final period of regulation, Renaud found the back of the net for Brockport to sneak out a win at home. Connor Hutchins and Ryan Romeo assisted on the game-winner.
Goalie Matt Schneider made 16 saves in the game, helping the team earn a bounce back win at home. Brockport outshot Cortland 27-17 in the contest, despite the Red Dragons winning the face-off battle 27-25.
