Ryan Kangas was named the Codfish Bowl’s Most Valuable Player after
scoring three goals and three assists including the game winning goal
Saturday to take down nationally ranked #5 UMASS Boston. Saturday night
in a tie game with overtime looming, Kangas received a pass at the right
face off circle and rifled a shot to the top shelf to give Brockport a
3-2 lead with 1:21 remaining. The Williamstown, Mass. native also scored
the first goal of the game less than four minutes in. In Sunday’s 5-1
championship win, Kangas netted one goal and picked up an assist on
another goal less than seven minutes into the game. The sophomore also
picked up an assist on a power play goal in the second period.
