Freshman Joe Reagan (Yonkers, NY) started both games in goal and led The College at Brockport’s hockey team into the championship game of the Rutland Herald Tournament at Castleton College this weekend. After making 46 games in the first contest and stopping 42 shots in the championship, Reagan was named Brockport’s Male Athlete of the Week.
Among Reagan’s big saves in the tournament’s opener against Tufts University on Friday night, Reagan stopped all four shots in the shootout as the Golden Eagles scored a 1-0 shootout win to earn a spot in the title game. Reagan turned away the first three shooters in the shootout, and after a Brockport goal, Reagan made one last save to clinch a spot in the championship.
Facing host Castleton, Reagan stopped 42 shots, but Brockport, after taking a 1-0 lead, fell 5-1 in the title game. Reagan was named to the All-Tournament team for the Golden Eagles.
