The Blue Jackets announced today that Pirates Assistant Coach Kevin Collins has taken been hired as their new Strength and Conditioning Coach.

The opening came about after Barry Brennan took a job in a similar capacity with the Atlanta Thrashers.

There is a connection with recently hired head coach Scott Arniel, who was an assistant in Buffalo while Collins was working with the Sabres prospects in Rochester and eventually in Portland when the Sabres moved their affiliate.
