Zamboni driver Kevin Grady has passed away

Brockport Hockey has lost a dear friend who loved the Green & Gold...Zamboni driver Kevin Grady

Kevin Timothy Grady

April 7, 1975 – September 10, 2023

Kevin Grady, a lifelong resident of Brockport, NY, passed suddenly September 10.

A 1993 graduate of Brockport High School, he received his BS in Organizational Management from Roberts Wesleyan College, and was employed at KORE Wireless (formerly Integron) for over 29 years.

Kevin was a long time Ice Arena Supervisor/Zamboni Driver at SUNY Brockport.

Kevin was predeceased by his father, Timothy Grady.

He is survived by his beloved wife Danielle (Cumberledge) Grady; and their children, of whom he was endlessly proud, Forrest, Alahna, Sheridan, and Maeve Grady.

Also survived by his mother, Barbara (Snell) Grady; brother, Sean (Victoria) Grady; and sister, Heather (Jeffery) Zielinski. He will be dearly missed by in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, co-workers, and friends.

Scores of people would count Kevin as their best friend – and he made time for all of them. His easy-going nature and ability to make others feel special were endlessly endearing. He was a lifelong hockey player, youth hockey and soccer coach, home beer brewer, table tennis champion, music lover, and no matter the time of day he was always up for a game.

Calling hours will be held 4 – 7 pm, Friday, September 15 at Fowler Funeral Home, 340 West Ave, Brockport NY.

Please remember him as he was – devoted husband, magnificent father, fun-loving competitor, fierce friend, and a strong man who loved to make a long story longer as he told it with a twinkle in his eye.

Memorial donations may be made to JDRF (jdrf.org) to support Type 1 diabetes research.
