The SUNY Brockport Men's Ice Hockey team fell to Elmira College on
Saturday afternoon 6-3, at the Murray Athletic Center. Elmira is now 5-4
overall and 3-1 in the New England Hockey Conference. Brockport falls
to 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the SUNYAC conference.
After a strong 20 minutes of play for the Soaring Eagles, Brockport went into the first intermission trialing 0-4.
Early in the first at 1:05 Josh Higgins received the puck from teammate Jacob Rodrigue
and buried the puck in the back of the net. Marking the first of 3
goals for the Green and Gold. Elmire scored one more time in the second,
sending Brockport into the third trialing 1-5.
At 2:08 in the second Andrew Harley capitalized on a power play opportunity scoring the second goal for the Golden Eagles. Harley was assisted by teammates Josh Grund and Chase Maxwell. Elmira scored their final goal at 7:08 in the third.
With one second left on the clock Dominic Chirico took a shot that rebounded of Elmira's goalie, landing in front of Matt Anastasio who snuck it in the net.
Nolan Egbert spent the first 47:52 minutes in the game before Dylan Wiemer stepped in for the last 12:08. Egbert made a total of 31 saves, allowing six goals. Wiemer made 10 saves and allowed no goals.
