The College at Brockport ice hockey team picked up another close win at
home on Saturday, defeating King's College 5-4 in overtime. Doc Gentzler proved to be the hero, burying the game-winner just 18 seconds into the overtime period.
The Golden Eagles are now the winners of two in a row since the start of the new year, and are 7-6 overall. Several players recorded multiple points on the night.
Mitchell Parsons and Jeremy Solat both found the back of the net twice in the contest. Doc Gentzler finished with one goal and two assists, while Corey Tam came away with two assists. Ryan Romeo and Ethan Solat both contributed with an assist in the win.
King's College struck first, as the visiting Monarch's took a 1-0 lead in the first period. Brockport would even the score up at 1-1, with Jeremy Solat's first score of the night. The Monarch's would score once more right before the end of the period to take a 2-1 edge over the Green and Gold.
King's College would increase its advantage to 3-1 about halfway through the second period, but Brockport answered quickly. Mitchell Parsons would score two goals in a span of three minutes for the Golden Eagles to tie the game, heading into the third period.
