ANNUAL SUNYAC HONORS

Yesterday the State of New York Athletic Conference announced their annual awards for men's ice hockey.

One of the big awards -- the Rookie of the Year honors -- went to Tim Kielich. The rookie forward scored eight goals and had 11 assists in 16 conference games. He added another three goals and eight assists outside the league. Kielich was named the SUNYAC Rookie of the Week twice this season as he helped Brockport finish fifth in the conference after regular-season play at 6-6-4.

The awards didn't end there. There are the All-SUNYAC teams, too.

A trio of Golden Eagles made the cut for their excellent performances this season. Chase Nieuwendyk made the First Team while Chad Cummings made the Second Team and Chris Luker made the Third Team.
