Freshman Jake Taylor (Port Perry, ONT) has been chosen as The
College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending on
Jan. 19.
Taylor picked up a loose puck and scored a powerplay goal with 1:26 left in the second period as the Golden Eagles skated to a 2-2 tie with Utica College, ranked No. 9 in the latest USCHO.com poll, Saturday night at Tuttle North Ice Arena.
Taylor also had an assist on Brockport’s first goal of the night.
The tie extended Brockport’s unbeaten streak to three games (2-0-1). The Golden Eagles have not lost a game since December 7 and are 2-1-2 in the last five games.
Brockport returns to action this weekend in a doubleheader as the Golden Eagles take on Morrisville in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) contests on Friday and Saturday evening.
