The Brampton (ON) Guardian has an article about Jared Lockhurst in Saturday's paper...
Lockhurst stopped 68 shots in two games as the Golden Eagles went 1-1 in SUNYAC.
Lockhurst blocked 22 shots in the third period alone— and 42 saves overall— as Brockport hung on to a one-goal lead against Buffalo State University. Brockport scored an empty net goal on their only shot of the period to claim the win.
Fellow BYHA grad Jonathan Demme netted the game-winner for Brockport, who has several of Lockhurst’s Brampton Capitals teammates on the roster including Marcus Farmer, Chad Cummings and Chase Nieuwendyk. Brampton native Luke Colavecchia, who played for the North York Rangers, is also at Brockport.
Lockhurst is 2-2 on the season with his losses being 2-0 and 1-0. He has a .944 save percentage and 2.01 goals-against average.
Ironically, the 2-0 loss Lockhurst suffered was to Oswego State, which had three more of Lockhurst’s former Capitals teammates on its roster— Chris Muise, Tyler Leimbrick and Taylor Farris.
