Brockport beats Fredonia

The SUNY Brockport ice hockey team defeated Fredonia State, 4-2, on Saturday night in Fredonia. Brockport earned two big points towards the conference standings and now sits 7-13-4 overall and 4-9-2 in the SUNYAC.
 
Fredonia struck first scoring at 10:12 into the first period to go up 1-0 early. The Golden Eagles recorded 19 shots but could not even the score in the opening period.
 
Brockport came out of the first intermission swinging. Chase Maxwell scored Brockport's first goal of the night just 1:18 into the second. Maxwell was assisted by Spencer Flansburg on the play, tying the score up at 1-1.

Nick Serafin put another point on the board for the Green and Gold at 3:31 into the second, assisted by Tobin Winslow, to give Brockport a 2-1 lead. Spencer Flansburg locked up the second period with a goal at 16:18, assisted by Dominic Chirico. Brockport headed into the second intermission up 3-1.
 
Fredonia got back into the action in the third period with a goal at 14:38. The Blue Devils trailed 3-2 before Connor Galloway snuck the puck in at 17:51. He was assisted by Andrew Harley and Victor Malzahn on the empty net goal, securing the 4-2 win.
 
Dylan Wiemer played 60:00 minutes in net, making 28 saves and allowing two goals for an overall save percentage of .933%.
