BROCKPORT ALUMNUS GOTKIN GETS 500th NCAA WIN

Rick Gotkin was a Golden Eagle in the 1980-1981 and 1981-1982 seasons. He was a very productive player, racking up 21 and 26 points, respectively, in those campaigns.

Rick's claim to fame in hockey circles extends beyond his playing time. He's one of the most accomplished coaches in NCAA hockey.

Yesterday certainly was a day for celebration for the Mercyhurst Lakers head coach.

On his birthday, the Lakers posted a 3-1 win over Air Force to give Gotkin the ultimate birthday present: his 500th career win. He becomes just the 23rd coach across all divisions to reach the milestone. He got all of those wins with just one team, having coached the Lakers since 1988-1989.

Congrats, Rick!
