The SUNY Brockport men's ice hockey team moves to 7-9 overall and 3-6
after an important, 3-2, win over Morrisville on Wednesday night.
Connor Galloway
struck first again, being the first to put points on the board with
Brockport's first goal at 17:49 into the first period. Galloway was
assisted by teammates Andrew Harley and Josh Grund. Brockport ended the first period with a 1-0 lead.
Early in the second Morrisville's Will Jones was sent to the box for
slashing, putting Brockport on a power play. Harley capitalized on the
opportunity finding the back of the net at 2:25 into the second period,
assisted by Galloway and Grund.
Twelve minutes later Josh Higgins sent the puck across ice to Chris Aarons
at 14:02 in the second, allowing him to lock up Brockport's third and
final goal of the night. With 39 seconds left in the second, the
visiting Mustangs got themselves on the board to make it a 3-1 game
after two.
Morrisville scored the final goal at 17:05 in the third. Originally not
scored a goal during live play, the officials discussed the play and
awarded Morrisville a goal to make it a 3-2 game with less than three
minutes to play. The Golden Eagles held off the comeback attempt down
the stretch to hang on for the win.
Nolan Egbert spent a full 60 minutes between the pipes, making 41 saves and allowing two goals.
