The ultimate captains

Co-captains Connor Hutchins and Hunter Laslo came into the season with their hands full.

They were looking at the addition of 9 freshman, a significant number of rookies to manage, gel with, and develop a culture with.

As if that wasn't enough, Hutchins and Laslo knew they would have to produce, too. The team lost 39 goals to graduation.

Well, these guys have proven to be the ultimate captains.

Most teams would have thrown in the towel and looked at a 9 freshman year as a rebuilding season.

The Golden Eagles haven't.

Hutchins and Laslo, along with coaches Dickinson and Luker, have these guys not only believing they can win, but they have them winning at unprecedented levels.

The team is now 7-1-1 and has allowed only 1.33 goals per game.

The mantle of leadership hasn't slowed down these two guys, either. Hutchins is on pace for 28 points and Laslo is on pace for a career-high 20 points.

You have to admire their ability to motivate, inspire effort, and yield results. They are great leaders.
