BIG TEN PUSHES FOR LOWER AGES IN COLLEGE HOCKEY

Amy Moritz with the Buffalo News is reporting that the Big Ten Conference is pushing for a change to the age limit for freshman hockey players. This would bring the age down to 20. Under the proposal submitted to the NCAA, a player can still be a 21-year-old freshman but he surrenders a year of eligibility, giving him just three years to play college hockey.
