BROCKPORT BEATS CANTON 4-1

Brockport (2-4) had two power play opportunities in the opening minutes of the game and took advantage of them both as DeFazio scored the first goal just 18 seconds into the extra man situation from in close after a shot from the point by Brian Hurlimann (Hilton, NY) was block near the goal and DeFazio stuffed the loose puck under the Canton (0-4-1) goalie for the early lead.

Less than three minutes later, Brockport was on another power play and Sikich scored only 14 seconds after the penalty started with a similar play and a shot from the point by Chris Luker (New Hartford, NY).

Early in the third period, Canton broke up the shutout with a shot from the top of the faceoff circle to the left of Brockport goalie Aaron Green (Mt. Albert, ONT).

The Kangaroos pulled their goalie in the closing minutes in an attempt to tie the score but Chase Nieuwendyk (Georgetown, ONT) scored into the empty net with 1:21 to play for the final margin of victory.
