From the Sports Information Desk:

The College at Brockport Men's Hockey team kicks off their second semester of play this weekend with two non-conference games. The Golden Eagles open up against the No. 8 ranked Neumann Knights at 7 pm Friday at Tuttle North Ice Arena. Brockport will travel to Hobart College at 4 pm Saturday.

The Golden Eagles are currently riding a three-game winning streak, including their last victory, an upset overtime win over then-No. 5 Elmira College on Dec. 9. Brockport also defeated Morrisville State in the Saves for a Cure Game on Dec. 3 and Nichols College at the Skidmore Invitational on Nov. 27. In the three victories, Brockport has scored 18 goals. The team scored a season-high seven goals against both Nichols and Morrisville.

Neumann University is currently 9-3-0 after defeating Penn State in their Winter Classic game held outdoors at Citizen Bank Park. Since the 2001-2002 season, Brockport is 7-2-1 against Neumann. The Golden Eagles skated to a 2-2 tie with the Knights in their last meeting on Jan. 29 2011.

Hobart College holds a record of 5-6-0, including a loss to Elmira. Hobart has also played SUNYAC teams Geneseo, Buffalo State, and Oswego State.

Since Nov. 27, a collection of individual players have earned individual accolades and milestones. Against Elmira, James Cody scored his 100th career point with an assist to Ian Finnerty on the game-winning goal. Cody also scored a goal with seven seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime. Freshman goalie Aaron Green made a career-high 30 saves in just his third collegiate start to earn the win.

Following the victory, Cody was named State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Player of the Week and Green was named Rookie of the Week. Cody was also named SUNYAC Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 27. Cody scored a hat trick against Nichols and one goal and three assists against Hamilton in the first round of the Skidmore Invitational. Ian Finnerty was named SUNYAC Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 4 after scoring a hat trick and adding an assist against Morrisville.
