I had the privilege of watching Jeremy DeFazio play hockey at Brockport for 4 years. The left winger graduated in 2016 after scoring 12 goals and amassing 24 assists in 98 games. Powerfully built and intelligent, he was one of the best defensive forwards in the SUNYAC during his career.
Jeremy now faces a different kind of fight than those he saw on the ice.
The young man was recently diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancer of the soft tissue. He began chemo treatments on Wednesday.
