The Mississippi RiverKings' (SPHL) announced yesterday that Brockport alumnus Ian Finnerty, who had an amazing senior season -- and brilliant Brockport career -- has signed with them for the 2012-13 season. Terms were not released.
"We're excited about having a player of Finnerty's ability added to our roster," said Head Coach Derek Landmesser. "He has good vision and is a strong two-way player."
After playing four years at the college level, the challenge of professional hockey excites Finnerty.
"I'm looking forward to get to the next level and see what it's all about," said Finnerty. "After speaking with Coach Landmesser, I'm in the right place to go after a championship."
Finnerty led the Golden Eagles with 36 points (11G, 25A) in 25 games last season.
